In my work...part of my duties include writing reports and occassionally someone will criticize our method or our use of the English language and this usually ends up with us having to sit through another couple of hours listening to some “expert” speak on the proper and effective use of the English language.
As I did my best to stay awake as the linguistic professor was lecturing my mind was sorta drifting...
"In English..." he said... "a double negative forms a positive. However... in some languages such as Russian...a double negative remains a negative. But there isn't a single language...not one...in which a double positive can express a negative...you agree Mr. d’Entremont ?"
